CHRIS BELL - ON THE COSTA BLANCA

Chris Bell is available for venues on the Costa Blanca.

He is a popular solo entertainer and musician who has been a professional most of his working life.

As well as singing, Chris plays guitar to add life to the performance, he uses top quality backing music to accompany himself. Playing a wide variety of songs  from Country through Pop to Rock, within the music era ranging from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s as well as some more recent material and so catering for a wide variety of tastes, whilst playing popular songs most people know.

He has a relaxed stage presence and whether playing at a wedding or a function, in a country pub or a city restaurant, Chris will be able to create the right atmosphere. He uses an HK1000 professional sound system which will deliver a rich, clear and palatable sound suitable for most small to medium size venues. The set up now includes lights to further add to the ambience.

This combination and blend of music has  been put to test with the ex-pats' here on the Costa Blanca and has proved to be a great success!

Chris began his music career playing and singing in pubs and restaurants around  London and the home counties and later toured the North East, Wales and the Midlands doing cabaret as part of a male/female a duo act.

In 1980 the duo won an audition to  tour New Zealand in 1980/81. Following  another brief spell as a solo artist in the London area,  in late 1981 he returned as a solo artist to  New Zealand, where he remained until 2003.

During the 23 years in New Zealand he entertained at many prestigious functions, including  the weddings of  famous “All Black” international rugby players. 

In 1987 Chris became host of New Zealand’s original Karaoke presenting the high profile “Starmaker Show” for Lion Breweries Entertainment. The Starmaker show was so successful it ran for over seven years, as a talent quest, or pure entertainment show , it toured all over New Zealand.

In the late 1990’s he wrote, played, recorded and produced an Album of original material, this Album holds the distinction of being the first Album of the new millennium, having been released at the stroke of new year 2000 just as New Zealand became the first country in the world  to move into the new century.

On his return to the UK in 2003, Chris resumed his solo music career and became a regular act in bars and clubs around Exeter, Tiverton, East and North Devon and West Somerset.
